The California Plant and Soil Conference is scheduled to take place on February 3-4, 2026, at the Visalia Convention Center in Visalia, California. The event is organized by the California Chapter of the American Society of Agronomy (CA ASA). Registration for the conference is currently open through its official website.

The annual gathering aims to provide students, professionals, and other attendees with updates on topics important to California’s agronomy sector. Certified Crop Advisers and Pest Control Advisers frequently attend to earn continuing education units that contribute to their professional credentials.

This year’s program will include sessions on a range of subjects such as the future of agriculture in California, precision agriculture, integrated pest management, robotics, nutrient management, technology for irrigation management, tools for soil health and regenerative agriculture, circular economies, genetic engineering advances, crop diversification, and groundwater issues related to quantity and quality.

Additional activities at the conference will feature an award ceremony recognizing individuals for their service in the field, a student poster competition alongside non-competitive professional posters, a mentoring breakfast for students, and a business meeting for CA ASA members. Sponsorship opportunities are available to help support student participation; further details can be found on the conference’s sponsorship page at https://na.eventscloud.com/website/58588/sponsors/. Early bird registration is offered until January 10th.

A team of volunteer professional agronomists from research institutions, cooperative extension services, public agencies, and private companies organizes and presents the conference each year. Those interested in serving on the board or seeking more information about the event are encouraged to contact current board members via https://na.eventscloud.com/website/58588/leadership/.

The CA ASA was established in April 1971 by local agronomists aiming to create a dedicated forum focused on issues specific to California agriculture. The organization’s annual meeting seeks “to promote research, disseminate scientific information, foster high standards of educational and ethical conduct in the profession,” as well as encourage cooperation among organizations with similar missions.
