With Thanksgiving approaching, Foster Farms is offering support to home cooks through an online resource and a dedicated turkey hotline. The company aims to help both experienced chefs and those preparing turkey for the first time with advice on brining, roasting, grilling, stuffing, and carving turkeys. The Turkey Tips webpage from Foster Farms features a roasting timetable, a step-by-step carving tutorial with slideshow, brining guidelines, and a stuffing recipe from co-founder Verda Foster.

For those seeking live assistance, the Foster Farms turkey hotline can be reached at 1-800-255-7227 during weekday business hours. Special holiday hours are available on November 24 from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. PST and on Thanksgiving Day from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. PST.

Foster Farms has also continued its annual hunger relief efforts by donating 64,000 pounds of turkey to food banks along the West Coast this month. This donation is expected to provide meals for more than 80,000 people in need across cities from Seattle to San Diego. Deliveries included contributions to San Francisco Mayor London Breed’s holiday outreach program as well as food banks in Merced County, San Diego, and Oregon.

The company reminds consumers about safe handling practices for poultry products. Bone-in turkey should be cooked until it reaches an internal temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit as measured by a meat thermometer.

“Since 1939, West Coast families have depended on Foster Farms for premium quality chicken and turkey products. Family-owned and operated, the company continues its legacy of excellence and commitment to quality established by its founders, Max and Verda Foster. Foster Farms specializes in fresh, all-natural chicken and turkey products free of preservatives, additives or injected sodium enhancers. Based in California’s Central Valley, with ranches also in the Pacific Northwest, the company’s fresh chicken and turkey are produced in or near each region served. Foster Farms also produces delicious pre-marinated, ready-to-cook and fully cooked products that meet the quality and convenience needs of today’s home cooks, retailers, warehouse clubs and foodservice customers. The company’s commitment to excellence, honesty, quality, service and people is a source of great pride, and a longtime family tradition,” according to information provided by Foster Farms.
