The Morning Star Company has released the second installment of its annual video series, TOMATO BITES, focusing on water issues in California. The series aims to provide a broader perspective on the processing tomato industry by examining key factors that shape each season.

Part 2 of the series addresses water availability and regulation, which are critical for agriculture in California. The episode discusses topics such as statewide snowpack, reservoir conditions, groundwater recharge efforts, and the ongoing implementation of the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA). The company states that the goal is not to focus on a single metric but to understand how these elements interact and affect long-term stability in California’s processing tomato sector.

The three-part video series is structured to share new episodes weekly. Each episode brings together viewpoints from across the supply chain to connect past production years with current conditions and future trends. Part 1 was released on February 3, with subsequent installments following each week.

Morning Star also announced that its newsletters are now distributed electronically through Mailchimp. The company notes that recipients may find these emails in their spam folders due to firewall settings.
