UC Cooperative Extension is organizing a practical, in-person training on nitrogen management in row crops. The sessions will take place on March 3 at the UCCE Sutter-Yuba office in Yuba City and on March 4 at the UCCE Stanislaus office in Modesto. Both events are scheduled from 8:30 am to 12:15 pm, followed by lunch.

Participants will have the opportunity to earn continuing education credits: three hours for Certified Crop Advisers (CCA) and three hours for INMTP. Attendance is free, and lunch will be provided. The agenda and speakers will be identical at both locations, allowing attendees to choose the most convenient venue.

The training will cover several topics related to nitrogen management, including practical tools for managing nitrogen, sources of nitrogen and considerations for application, budgeting and monitoring crop nitrogen, integrating irrigation with nitrogen management, and soil sampling techniques.

UC Agriculture and Natural Resources (UC ANR), which oversees UC Cooperative Extension, works throughout California by sharing science-based practices to improve lives statewide. The organization operates offices in all 58 California counties as well as nine Research and Extension Centers that serve as living laboratories across diverse ecosystems. More information about UC ANR’s activities can be found on its official website.

Registration for the workshop is available online at https://surveys.ucanr.edu/survey.cfm?surveynumber=48698. Additional details can also be found through a workshop flier.
