Ocean Mist Farms announced on Apr. 16 the launch of its new Heartichokes product line, introduced at the New York Produce Show last week. The company, known as North America’s largest grower and shipper of fresh artichokes, presented this innovation to significant anticipation from attendees.

The new Heartichokes line is designed to meet growing consumer demand for convenience in fresh produce. Ocean Mist Farms contributes to community health by supplying nutrient-rich vegetables that enhance family meals and lifestyles, according to the official website.

Chris Drew, president and chief executive officer of Ocean Mist Farms, said, “We were thrilled to launch our first-of-its-kind ‘Heartichokes’ at the New York Produce Show.” He added that these tender baby artichoke quarters are ready to cook right out of the package and can elevate any meal. The product includes three options: two with chef-crafted seasoning packets—Lemon Butter and Savory Parm—and one unseasoned version for consumers who prefer their own spices. “Each package contains about five trimmed artichokes for easy dishes requiring minimal prep, mess, or cleanup,” Drew said.

Drew also explained how Heartichokes reflect the company’s commitment to adapting with consumer needs: “Commodities will always be central to our business, but we also recognize the growing consumer demand for value-added convenience items in fresh produce.” He continued that maintaining a strong market position requires adaptation based on evolving trends over their 100-year history.

Ocean Mist Farms utilizes dedicated fields in Southern California for year-round crop production and distributes its fresh produce nationwide while growing crops solely in California, according to the official website. The company specializes in a variety of vegetables such as artichokes, asparagus, broccoli, lettuce and spinach along with ready-to-cook kits.

Jeff Fulton, vice president sales & product management at Ocean Mist Farms said: “We’ve invested significant energy and resources into understanding evolving consumer needs… That insight fuels our development process and ensures we’re delivering on-trend solution-driven innovations that both delight consumers and drive sales growth for our retail partners – all while honoring our century-old heritage.”

As a family-run operation focused on cultivating premium vegetables using sustainable farming practices for consistent supply—and hand-harvesting crops that meet strict quality standards—Ocean Mist Farms aims to support healthy eating through high-quality products promoting nutritious diets within communities across America according to their official website.
