SSJV Water Quality Coalitions, in partnership with the UC Cooperative Extension, will host a series of free one-day training events on integrated water and nitrogen management. The trainings are scheduled for January 20, 21, and 22 at different locations across the San Joaquin Valley.

The sessions are part of the organizations’ joint Management Practices Evaluation Program (SSJV MPEP). They aim to provide growers and their advisors with information focused on improving irrigation efficiency and nutrient management. The program emphasizes the important connection between water use and nitrogen application in agriculture.

Organizers state that participants will gain practical knowledge about using water and nitrogen efficiently. The goal is to help conserve groundwater resources while maintaining productive farming practices. Continuing education credits will be available for those who attend.

“Attendees will learn how to use water and nitrogen efficiently to conserve and protect groundwater resources while farming productively,” according to event organizers.

Registration for the training events is open online.
