Sunkist Growers has announced the return of its limited-edition 10-pound holiday-themed carton and quarter bin for Sunkist Navel oranges. The packaging, featuring seasonal illustrations, is intended to appeal to shoppers’ sense of tradition during the holidays.

Cassie Howard, Senior Director of Category Management and Marketing at Sunkist Growers, stated: “From merchandising to marketing, this program continues to deliver. Last season’s holiday carton drove a 24% lift in Navel orange volume versus the year prior, proving that classic packaging with fresh storytelling still resonates with today’s shopper.”

The company points out that citrus fruit has long been associated with holiday traditions in the United States. Recent consumer research indicates that nearly all U.S. consumers plan to celebrate at least one major holiday this season, and most will participate in several celebrations. This trend highlights continued demand for festive grocery items despite ongoing inflation concerns.

Sunkist emphasizes that citrus remains an affordable and nutritious option during the holidays. The new 10-pound carton is designed for large promotions, while the quarter bin offers flexibility for displaying bulk citrus in stores.

Sunkist Navels have been part of California farming traditions for over 130 years and continue to be positioned as a symbol of holiday celebration.
