Sunkist Growers has announced the launch of new merchandising tools designed to support retailers ahead of the California citrus season. The initiative expands on the cooperative’s Sunny Days brand platform, bringing a creative rollout to retail environments through updated display bins and point-of-sale materials.

Central to the refreshed merchandising suite are new grower bins that feature stories from Sunkist’s multi-generational family growers. These displays use bold colors, clear variety labels, and storytelling elements to connect shoppers with the people behind their citrus products. The approach aims to blend Sunkist’s heritage with a modern presentation that attracts attention in produce aisles and encourages purchases.

A recent study commissioned by Sunkist indicates that in-store promotions and brand recognition remain key factors influencing citrus buying decisions. The new merchandising includes seasonal graphics, messaging tailored for shoppers, and adaptable display formats intended to help retailers leverage these motivators across stores nationwide.

“Merchandising is where brand storytelling meets the purchase decision,” said Cassie Howard, Senior Director of Category Management and Marketing at Sunkist Growers. “By combining bold creative assets with insights from our category management program, we’re making it easier for shoppers to say yes to citrus, connect with our growers, and keep the category top of mind all season long.”

The expanded set of merchandising tools will be available for a variety of citrus offerings such as Navels, Lemons, Mandarins, Grapefruits, Cara Caras, and Blood oranges. Sunkist reports leading industry sales in branded Blood orange volume and packaging. The company’s 2lb Blood orange bag has performed well at traditional retail outlets due to its value pricing and fit with product specifications. When used alongside the updated display bins, these programs offer retailers flexible ways to highlight seasonal favorites and boost in-store citrus sales.

Retailers interested in participating are encouraged to contact their Sunkist sales representative for more information about the Sunny Days merchandising program and to reserve materials ahead of peak season.
