UC Agriculture and Natural Resources (UC ANR) has announced a change in its executive leadership. Associate Vice President Brent Hales is stepping down from his position, effective immediately, to pursue other professional opportunities.
In a message to colleagues, Vice President Glenda Humiston expressed appreciation for Hales’ contributions during his tenure. “Please join me in thanking Brent for his service to UC ANR and wishing him all the best,” Humiston said.
The organization is currently working on an interim plan to ensure continuity in operations and support for ongoing research and Cooperative Extension efforts. “Regarding next steps, the leadership team is actively evaluating a plan for interim coverage to prioritize continuity and smooth workflows in support of our research and Cooperative Extension mission. We want to be thoughtful with a focus on ensuring our programs, partnerships and people are well supported as we move forward, and we do not want to lose momentum on projects or initiatives currently underway. We expect to have a confirmed plan to share with you by Friday, January 16,” Humiston stated.
No successor has been named yet, but an update on interim leadership arrangements is expected soon.
