The University of California Cooperative Extension (UCCE) has released its Sacramento Valley Water Newsletter for Winter 2026. The publication addresses several topics relevant to water management in the region.
Among the main subjects covered are seasonal irrigation considerations for orchard crops, which aim to help growers adapt their practices to changing weather and water availability. The newsletter also discusses the management of golden mussels in Northern California agricultural water systems, an issue that has implications for both water quality and infrastructure maintenance.
Other sections include a quarterly groundwater report that provides updates on local groundwater conditions, as well as a list of upcoming events and resources for stakeholders interested in water issues in the Sacramento Valley.
The newsletter is part of UCCE’s ongoing efforts to inform and support agricultural producers, resource managers, and community members in addressing regional water challenges.
