The University of California Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education Program (UC SAREP) is organizing two free webinar series this winter aimed at organic producers. The sessions are designed to benefit both experienced organic farmers and those new to organic production.
The 6th Annual Organic Seminar Series for Growers will be held on Tuesdays from January 13 to March 17, 2026, between noon and 1:00 p.m. Organizers say the seminar will present “the latest research on organic production and marketing practices.” Spanish interpretation will be available for participants.
A second series, Transition to Organic, targets individuals who are new to organic farming. These webinars will take place on Wednesdays from January 14 to March 18, 2026, from noon until 2:00 p.m. According to organizers, “this series is for you” if you are beginning in organic agriculture and want information on preparing for USDA organic certification. Spanish and Hmong interpretation services will be provided.
Both ten-week series include time for audience questions and discussion. Registration details and speaker lineups can be found online at the respective webpages for each series.
The events are a collaboration among several organizations including the UC Organic Agriculture Institute, UC SAREP, UC Small Farms Network, UC Cooperative Extension, Community Alliance with Family Farms (CAFF), Agriculture and Land-Based Training Association (ALBA), as well as various speakers contributing their expertise.
“Join us for the latest research on organic production and marketing practices,” an organizer stated regarding the Organic Seminar Series.
“New to organic farming? This series is for you. Learn everything you need to know to successfully prepare for USDA organic certification,” organizers said about the Transition to Organic Series.
