University of California offers practical accessibility webinars for digital content creators

A new webinar series focused on practical accessibility is being offered system-wide for University of California affiliates. The sessions are designed for beginners and non-specialists, providing guidance on making digital content more accessible using basic techniques and built-in tools. Registration requires a UC email address.

The first session, “Practical Accessibility – Documents and PDFs,” will be presented by Brian McNeilly, Web Accessibility Specialist at UC Office of the President (UCOP), on March 6 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm PT. Registration is available at https://UCOP.zoom.us/meeting/register/4CM2EGjxRKW0ZlVm5uv8zg.

McNeilly will also lead “Practical Accessibility – Video and Zoom” on March 19 from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm PT. Registration can be completed at https://UCOP.zoom.us/meeting/register/DNRkXUuoTxiFTrhYkXuVLg.

The third session, “Practical Accessibility – Canvas LMS,” will be led by Rolin Moe, Associate Vice Provost UC Online at UCOP, on March 25 from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm PT. Interested participants can register at https://UCOP.zoom.us/meeting/register/rs3o0KvhR9S68kXCpWpJug.

On April 2, McNeilly will present “Practical Accessibility – Presentations and Visual Aids” from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm PT. Registration is available at https://UCOP.zoom.us/meeting/register/NM6IpEiSSWmZmGkUONGYYA.
